On the Verge is a monthly publication that explores the Pakistani startup scene. Each month, I will dive into a specific company or sector within the country, and highlight both opportunities and risks.

Who am I?

I’m a Pakistani based in the US working on a global fintech idea.

Six years ago, I co-founded Alter.vc — an early-stage investment fund which invests in emerging markets, including Pakistan. Previously, I also worked at the State Bank of Pakistan (aka the Central Bank).

I’m also a math and economics nut. And I like to think my experience gives me a good understanding of both the macro fundamentals and the microeconomics of startups.
